baptism

Since her arrival, we have enjoyed watching our little girl grow. On Sunday, July 14th, we got to watch her grow with the Lord. We invited our family and friends to come be a part of Keaton's baptism. Here are a few pictures of her special day...

This day was very special. Not only did she get dedicated to the Lord, but what she wore was also VERY special to me. She got to wear the dress I wore when I got baptized. My mom and JoJo (my grandma) made it for Erica and I. So, mom made Keaton a little slip to go under it that had both our names monogrammed with our dates we were baptized. Hopefully one day she can pass it down to her little girl. She also wore the shoes that Mrs. Ruth Koon made me for my baptism along with her pearls that her Pa and Grandma Nay gave her.

It was a very special day for us and we were thankful everyone came to share it. :)

her arrival.

Well, it's been a while since I've updated our blog. And it could be that we have been slightly busy... to say the least.. Our little bundle joined us on June 1 and since then, we've been learning all about her. Here's a "snapshot" of her arrival.

Jeremy and I went into the hospital on Friday, May 31st at 5 am to get induced. We checked in, got our room, started IV's, began my pitocin and Dr. Guidice broke my water by 7 am. We started at 2 cm and we thought the ball was rolling. All morning, I kept having contractions but I wasn't making any progress.

So to "kill some time", we took pictures. Here we are waiting.

The last time we're a family of two.
 Everyone was waiting. ME too!
Jeremy's mom bought me a present for her birth day. She got me beads for my troll bracelet to remember this day.

I got Jeremy an iPad for his "daddy" present. So, we spent some of our "waiting time" playing with his new toy.

By this time, she kept dropping, but no dilation. By 6 pm, they finally gave me an epidural and we were trucking at 3 cm. However, we were still making NO progress. By 11 pm, our parents decided to go home and asked us to call them if anything began to happen. Erica decided to stay the night with us, just in case our sweet girl decided to come before anyone could arrive to take pictures. :)

So, we camped out... ALL night. By 6 am they told me we did not have a choice but to have a c-section. So, Jeremy suited up and I... cried. I was so exhausted and the last thing I wanted was a c-section, but all at the same time, I was excited. I knew she was moments away.

So, the prepped me for "surgery" and we went into the OR.
Everyone was out in the waiting room when Jeremy got to bring her out for everyone to see! He was so proud.

She arrived Saturday, June 1st at 7:16 am. 8 lbs even. 21 inches long. Her poor head was so long from being in the birth canal for over 24 hours. Bless her heart.

By 9 am, I finally got to hold that little bundle for the first time. I saw her for a short moment in the OR, but while I was in recovery, they let me {officially} meet my precious girl.

I couldn't stop staring at her.

We were ecstatic to have her a part of our little family. And the grandparents couldn't take their hands off her!

I am so proud of the daddy Jeremy has become. He takes such good care of her (and me). People keep asking how Jeremy's adjusting and I must say... he's done pretty well. Of course I would brag on my own man, but for anyone who doesn't know him, he really is a good daddy.

floors.

Last week, we picked out tile and by Friday, they had it all laid. Everywhere in the house is beautiful pine floors, but in the laundry room, his mud room and the bathrooms, they all have tile. Here is what we picked out!

This is the tile for mine and Keaton's laundry room:
And the tile for my bathroom.  I'm so excited!

It's coming along. This week they are supposed to finish all the wood work and hopefully they will start painting/staining soon!

a lil lumberjack outfit

So, we got a sweet surprise in the mail yesterday from Maegan, Barrett and Miss. Claire. I was SO excited to find a little lumberjack outfit all (in the best Maegan voice) rhine-stoned (I think that's how you spell it), other sweet outfits, cute little shoes, and a sweet book!!! It is all perfect and I CANNOT wait to dress her in the tree outfit and take pictures with her daddy. Jeremy is so going to hate me and my camera when she gets here! Ha.
Thanks Maegan!!!! (:

almost FULL term

Well, Saturday we had our first "scare".  I began having contractions while I was trying to put up some of her things we've had boxed up in the corner of the living room. I didn't think much of it because they come and go and have been for the last 5 weeks. BUT I noticed they were pretty close... so, I timed them. Yeah, they were 5 minutes apart and stayed that way for about 30 minutes. I put my feet up and they continued. I was determined Keaton was NOT coming and started to chug water. They finally slowed down to 10 minutes apart for about 2 hours. Then completely tapered off. Thank goodness. But in the midst of all this... worry came over me. I was NOT ready. I did not have her seat in the car, no bags were packed, I hadn't turned in my work FMLA stuff, Erica was at Kenny Chesney, mom and dad were out of town and the list goes on... Thank goodness she did NOT make her debut.

In the mean time, I finally took the time to do some of the things I hadn't. Like... make her bed. Now, we got it delivered this past Saturday morning and our room is still not finished. So, her bed is made but her room is NOT put together. Here's her bedding...

Then, I finally took the time to put her car seat in. It's weird seeing it ride around in the back of my car, but we cannot wait to put her sweet little self in it.

In the middle of all this, everyone keeps asking if we have the "addition" finished or if her nursery is put together. I haven't updated everyone on what the progress looks like, so here's my best shot. They finally finished all the wood on the walls this week. This is the office/other bedroom.

This is looking out our bedroom that will have french doors going in. You can see down the hallway that will connect to the current house. To the immediate right is a door to go outside and the second door is my laundry room for Keaton and I. Yes, I said it... MY laundry room. Jeremy has his in his mudroom, so we get to have our own. He's pretty good to us!
Here is my favorite... our room.
It's coming along. BUT my favorite... the ceiling. It's just beautiful to me!! Tomorrow they are coming to finish the floors, put down tile in the bathroom and the laundry room and hopefully they will be installing doors and staining soon.  Crossing my fingers it will be done before her arrival. Talk about cutting it close... whew.

Oh, one last thing. Our 36 week picture:
I feel like you can really tell she is beginning to "drop". My belly feels so heavy and I have officially began the waddle. Well, a slight waddle. We've made it to 36 weeks. Only 4 more days and she is considered full term. We went to the doctor yesterday and he said everything was looking good. Her heartbeat was 140, she is head down and in position. I'm not dilated just yet and I have began my one week visits. It's crazy how fast this has (and has not) flown by. (:

here and there.

Well, the last three weeks have passed us by and my belly is HUGE. Everyone says I'm all belly, but I just feel like I have a basketball under my shirt and weights around my ankles. Ha. But the countdown has begun and we've got around 5 more weeks left to go. Whew.

Here is Miss. Keaton at 34 weeks:
And here it is now... 35 weeks. In the last several weeks, I've found a new love for chocolate milk. Which is so weird. I'm not a chocolate fan at all, but for some reason, home made chocolate milk is the best!!

Over the past few weeks, we've accomplished some things. We've had showers (wonderful showers), finished the cradle, and a lot has taken place in the addition! Here are a few catch up photos of all the fun we've had:
My Kindergarten team threw us a wonderful shower this week. They had the sweetest decorations and most precious monogrammed napkins. Everything was perfect!
My mom's side of the family threw a shower for Miss. Keaton. They had the cutest decorations, wonderful food and a lot of the family came to celebrate! Erica and Brandy had given us the rocking horse. It's become tradition since Brandy had Josie that we've each given each other a rocking horse for each other's houses. And mom re-did my Moses basket. She had to work on the handles and made all new lining on the inside. It's precious!

We finally finished the cradle. With the help of Meredith, we finished painting, sanding and assembled with her new bedding. I need an updated picture because we've added her monogrammed pillow, blanket and some stuffed animals she's been given. It's precious.

Now for the most exciting... MY CLOSET is finished... well, almost. The wood has been put up on the walls and the ceiling. There's more to finish, but it's progress!!!

The part I'm most excited about... this closet, is MINE all MINE!  I mean, I'll let him put a few things in it, but it's built just for ME.  Gah, I love this man! AND he's letting me put wood on the ceiling in every room of this new addition. It's going to be BEAUTIFUL. I can't wait until it's finished.
